On Friday, NMMA secured a meeting in Elkhart, IN. with Congressman Joe Donnelly (IN-2), NMMA president Thom Dammrich and three NMMA member boat manufacturers from the area, including J. P. Hoyer and Steve Vogel of Bennington Marine, Doug Smoker of Smokercraft and Bob Moran and Jim Orbik of Nautic Global Group.
Steve Vogel led Congressman Donnelly on a tour of Bennington Marine's manufacturing facility and the Congressman then met with the full group to discuss our industry's needs on Capitol Hill, specifically marine floorplan financing and the NOL carryback.
"Congressman Donnelly understands the serious problem of floorplan financing for the marine industry, is extremely supportive of our efforts, and has been meeting with the Obama Administration to discuss our issues. The meeting was a great success and will go a long way to ensuring our industry is heard in Washington," noted Dammrich.
